Simple, basic introduction..
Well…whaddaya want for $5, eh?? This is fine for absolute novices to get the basic lay of the land. Theres a whole lot of heres a button, and it does xx", but not a lot of why" you want to use it.. Id love a little more actualy workflow tips and detailed specifics, but this isnt that kind of video. More details about different frame rates and video sizes and what FCP does to them. But..that stuff is for more detailed tutorials (like the MacProVideo stuff). Given that, this is still great for $5 and dipping your toes into FCPX to get the lay of the land and explanation of some of the potential for what it can do.
one gripe…this whole video could have used a quick audio post-production pass. Theres some obvious edits in the VO track, the announcers breathing, and numorous low frequency pops and rumble. Really obvious on good studio speakers and headphone..not so much on a laptop :)
all in all 4 stars and a really nice, simple, clean intro to FCPx.
